Sandqvist Tote Bag

15 May 04:43 pm

Having been searching for a casual tote bag for the summer for quite some time, I was rather delighted when I found this Sandqvist tote at Zoovillage for only 39 Euros. Thinking I would like to use it with the more street and very casual combinations, something like a polo shirt and shorts, I went for the khaki option available. The fabric is quite "rough" and feels like it can really take a hit or two. The leather is also pretty sturdy and the whole construction actually feels pretty solid. Two pockets inside seem quite handy as well. A great bag for visiting the beach or just running errands on a summer Saturd…

Meermin Double Monks in Brown Calf

28 Apr 04:56 pm

Ever since getting my Scotch Grain Meermin double monks I've been thinking of getting another pair that would be more fit for summer. As I'm a big fan of the Hiro last and very much like the shade of brown Meermin is offering, the decision wasn't too difficult. The leather feels quite soft and I'm eager to see how this pair will age. Overall there isn't much to say about the model as it is a pretty basic double monk strap shoe with a leather sole. When I was having a discussing with Mathias from Berg & Berg he suggested me getting one of their braided belts. With my snuff suede Aldens on the way, I quickly made up my mind and picked up the one in cognac calf. The belt is pretty much what you would expect it to be. The brass parts are solid and the leather quite thick, making it …

02 Aug 06:41 pm

Snow and chemicals during the winter, mud during the fall, dust during the summer and beer after a night out - this is what your suede shoes have to endure. How to keep them healthy? Read on and you will see a transformation that a pair of my own will go through. After and before. 1. You need a chunk of Marseille soap, a hard or medium toothbrush and a silicon-free suede spray. Go for Saphir, but companies like Allen Edmonds offer a good and cheap alternative. You can use neutral or colored spray, but make sure the color is right or go with neutral. I will use a mid-brown Saphir suede renovator spray in this case. …

Berg & Berg SS13: Summer Ties

21 Apr 06:31 pm

I was able to get a hold of some great stuff from Berg & Berg's SS/13 collection, and will be introducing them in detail during next week. First up however, two of the regular ties that I found the most interesting and fit for my style from the collection. The blue one is one of the design that combines a a pretty ideal width of 7.5 cm and chic summer weight cotton with a classic Prince of Wales pattern, making it a good friend to almost any kind of summer combination. I am personally looking forward to wearing it with a navy jacket, white shirt, cream chinos and brown tassel loafers. The red one is an unti…
